Things

Hi, my name is Silvana Farías and I'm studying Social Work. I´m in the third year of my career. Sincerely, I don´t like English much, but sometimes I have fun with it. Two of my weaknesses learning English are listening the language and writing it. Those things are complicated for me. Nevertheless, one of my strengths is, I think, my pronunciation. I mean, those aren't complicated for me than listening and writing, because I have problems with my pronunciation too. The expectation that I have with this class is still learning English to be capable to talk with a person fluently.

Sincerely, I don´t want talk about the semester, I just want finish it. So, if you notice my post has no emotion, you know why.  The good things that happened this semester was the more chances to meet with my friends, because I had more organisation of my times (that is other good thing). Also I had better marks than the past semester.  I had a very hard situation: the teamwork. This semester we had work in groups in all of the subjects, and in some subject all the marks was in group. And in the practice that we have, we need work in groups too. So, the teamwork let me played-out. I need a few weeks to recover up and to feel good again to work in groups. My achievements this semester was my organisation to read and prepare the tests and the jobs, I´m happy with that, but I think I can do better. The stress had no mercy with me, but I overcome it. When I was thirteen, I believed the people are very stupid and I think I was the only human in the world with common sence. I didn´t appreciate the people around me in that age and I didn´t want their company. Thanks Buda this changes. Now I enjoy have time with my friands and my family, and I don´t think I was a human with common sence, in facts I need learn about that from some people. Other thing that change in my life is my preference about colors. I had a problem with the pink. I hated that color. Maybe was because I didn´t want the people think I was the classic girl, I didn´t want fall in thats setereotype. But after thinking and thinking I realize that was a stupidity, and I was free. Free to love pink and live it. Yeah! Three years ago I prefered keep my thughts in my mind, so I didn´t comment about nothing if disturbes the atmosphere. My favorite subjet this term is Social Policies.  The objetive of this subjetc is review the different approaches and models in the welfare systems  and their social policies.Other objetive is review the way of implementation of this policies and analiyze all of that.  In the class, the teacher talk supported by presentation of PowerPoint that show images and diagrams, and some times, citations of the authors that she give us to read. We  take notes all  the class, because we don´t have exercise in class or something like that.  The contents that we have seen are the perpective and contents of politic economies of  welfare regimes, the welfare models and social politics models, social politics in Latin America, the role of the actors in the construction  of social politics and the process of elavoration of the new policies.   The reason why I like this subjet are for the teacher, because she explain very well ...

If you readed previous post that I writed, you know I´m studying Social Work. Social Work have some journals in Chile, most of them belong to universitys. Many journals are electonic, so you can watch them on internet. The electronic journal that I enjoy visiting is Electronic Journal of Social Work edited for University of Concepción (RETS-UdeC) in http://www.revistatsudec.cl/ According to the website of the journal, the objetive of Rets-UdeC is disseminate papers of theoretical, experimental and applied character in the field of Social Work, to disseminate advances in the discipline and support the work of professionals, and contribute to the discuss with other disciplines of Sciences Socials. The design of website is very simple, have only six sections that they are: news, curren numbering, previous numbers, editorial committee, publishing regulations and “write us”. Well, I think I talk about my passions in other posts. So, I write about something different, to do this blogg and the thing what I post, more varied. One word: Volleyball. As you know, volleyball it's not a sport of contact as basketball or handball, but is just as intense, and you need exercise all your body too to make it strong and flexible. Play volleyball means work like a team, so you lose like a team, and you win like it. Your not alone in the court, and you can´t play without yours teamate. You need serve, you need recive, you need set and you need attack - and block the atack of the opponent- and you can´t touch the ball twice in a row. So, to continue the game, your need your teammate. Although, I still have a lot to learn, I let valleyball teach me that alone you can do so little, but together you can do some much.
